After starting up the engine of the car, she waved at Terry. Wearing a tense smile, she was on her way up the driveway.

Finally exiting the graveled road, Grace was heading back to the main road when her helpless sobs began. Contrary to the impression she’d left Terry, she’d never entered a relationship lightly.

He hadn’t even attempted to stop her.

I think I’ve spent enough time in the water. How about you?”

Penny nodded hesitantly.

Slowly lifting himself from the tub, Sam eased out from the water. Picking up a towel and holding it open, he nodded at Penny, giving her a brief tender smile.

She was feeling shy when she stepped out from the water. But quickly wrapping the towel around her, Sam picked up another and swiftly began drying her arms and legs. Finally, he wrapped the towel around his own waist.

Sam laid a palm gently to each side of her face. Slowly sliding back her headband, he tangled his fingers in her loosened hair. “Your hair smells great. I’d know your scent anywhere,” he whispered gruffly, gazing into her eyes. “Are we ready for bed?”

Again, she nodded her agreement.

Taking her hand, he steered her slowly into the bedroom. Observing the eerily darkening sky, Sam tugged her gently through the French doors onto the balcony, and, after wrapping her in his arms, together, they stared upward at the threatening sky. When a flash of lightning jaggedly lit up the horizon, Sam pulled her quickly back into the bedroom. “Should we close the doors?”

She cleared her throat, still feeling nervous. “I’m comfortable if you are.”

Turning her gently, he brushed his lips over hers. “C’mon.” Quietly, Sam maneuvered her through the room until they were standing beside the bed. Reaching for her towel, after observing her nod of acceptance, he tugged it off.

Recognizing the appreciation in Sam’s eyes, Penny immediately became much more confident. But when she reached for Sam’s towel, and pulled it off from around his waist, Penny was surprised to discover that Sam was once again aroused. “That was awfully quick,” she muttered.

Sam laughed softly, drawing her closer. “I’ve got news for you.” Raising one hand in the air, he snapped his fingers. “All I have to do is look at you, and it happens just like that.”

Penny blinked, startled by his words. Suddenly, she began laughing as she collapsed onto the bed. It was just so absurd, this idea of being so arousing to Sam. And when Sam began laughing as well, Penny was totally at ease when he dropped down beside her onto the bed.

All of a sudden, after he’d rolled and tumbled her dead center into the middle of the enormous bed, she found herself wrapped within his arms “Better, now?” Sam whispered.

Nodding, she smiled. Amazingly, she really was feeling better. Making love with Sam just felt so right.

“Now it’s my turn. Don’t move,” he growled. His mouth began worshipping the curves of her breasts, before he slowly eased up onto his knees.

When she self-consciously covered her breasts with her hands, Sam pried her hands apart calmly.
